To connect your Mechatar to the Mechaverse, you will need to use the USB cable that came with your Mechatar robot. Plug in the smaller end of the USB cable into the receptor on the back of the Mechatar, and plug in the opposite end of the cable into an available USB port on your computer. It is critical that the USB cable is properly inserted into the Mechatar for proper connection. Please review the illustrations in the following article:

Make sure that your computer is connected to the internet.

Go to your Downloads folder and locate the file you have just download:

You will see the file that you have just download on your desktop (MechatarsMacApplication). 

 Double click on this icon to open the Installer.

To install the software, simply drag the Desktop Application to the Application folder. Double click on Applications to open the folder. (Note: If you are on Mac OS X version 10.5, instead of dragging the icon to your Applications folder, please drag it to your Dock, then double click that icon to launch the software).
Locate the Mechatars Desktop Application icon and double click on the icon to open the software.

You will notice the Mechatars icon in your menu bar on the top right hand corner of your screen:

Note that the icon is grey when your Mechatar is not switched on. As soon as you turn your Mechatar on, the icon will turn from grey to black and a web browser with automatically launch with the login screen.  If this is your first time on the Mechaverse, you will be prompted to register. Go ahead and fill out the registration form then click Submit.

If your computer does not already have the Unity Web Player installed, you will be prompted to install this client. You will see the Unity Web Player installation icon in the middle of the screen.

Click on this icon to download and install Unity. As soon as the installation is complete, you will be able to access the Mechaverse!

If you already have Unity Web Player installed, you will want to make sure that you have version 3.3 or newer installed. To verify what version you currently have installed (and to download the most current version), please visit http://unity3d.com/webplayer/
